So my pregnant craving of the week is pineapple! Any way, shape or form…frozen pineapple yogurt, slushy, fresh pineapple, pineapple juice. Anyway I can get it…I want it!

Busy, busy, busy…it’s so crazy around here! Spring has sprung and we have been swamped with outdoor spring sessions. This little guy took a long time to warm up, but I the last 15 minutes of the session he finally came around and we got some great shots of him running on the beach. I photographed him when he was a newborn two years ago! I just adore the curls…

There’s still a few spots left for our spring mini sessions in San Juan. Seriously, if you are interested in outdoor portraits of your kids, this is the time to do it! The location is fantastic with lots of great, interesting backgrounds and color and the mini session pricing is fantastic and is only available a few times a year. Don’t forget a cd of all your ordered images comes with each collection!

A great cause…for an amazing family!

Once in a while in life you come across someone or a family that really makes a lasting impression. Their kindness, generosity, and genuine caring for others makes them stick out from all the rest and you are drawn to them. You may recognize the image below as one of my trademark images. It was taken just after I met a wonderful young mom who had come to me for maternity and newborn portraits of her second child. This young family is one of those that has left an indelible impression on my heart.

I have since then photographed her family and children several times documenting the loving, sweet family that they are. They have been some of my favorite clients from the first time we met. Last October, Amanda was diagnosed with a very agressive form of breast cancer at the young age of 29. Her courage and determination and positive attitude over the last few months are awe inspiring.

Next Saturday, March 7th all of her dedicated friends and family have planned a fundraising event for her which will provide direct help to her family in this time of great need as well as celebrate her fighting spirit and dedication to fighting this awful disease. Please consider coming to the event or making a donation in her honor.

Hi there! Yes I am still alive. I know I’ve been MIA the past few weeks. I finally hit the wall. I did all I could do this holiday season. Between getting all of your orders out the door and getting my family taken care of for Christmas I finally reached my limit. Most people who know me know that I am totally Type A and a work-a-holic so it takes a lot for me to hit the wall. I needed a week or two to just detox from all of the madness. Don’t worry, I’m slowly getting back on my feet by taking a much needed vacation.

The studio will pretty much be closed until January 19th. I’ll be in and out of the studio early next week, but then I’m off to Imaging USA which is a photographic conference in Arizona. We should be back in full swing at the studio the week of January 19th. If you’d like to book a session, please call and leave a voicemail on the studio machine or shoot me an email. I’ll make sure to get back to you and get you on the calendar.

In the meantime, I hope you all had a Happy New Year and that all your dreams come true in 2009!

Happy Mondays are back!

I’ve missed a few Mondays, but I have also missed Happy Monday. I really miss it. It brings a bit of reality into my life to think of 3 things that make me happy each week. So this week…

1. Fall is in the air and is finally here in So Cal and I love it! Crisp mornings, breezy days, white puffy clouds and everything pumpkin!
2. Salted Carmel Hot Chocolate from Starbucks. Have you tried this? It is AMAZING!!!! It tastes like chocolate covered pretzels.
3. Dinner, a movie and a frozen yogurt with my 12 year old daughter. We had a mom/daughter night on Friday and I loved spending one on one time with my sweet girl.

First, let me clarify…I am NOT a wedding photographer. I don’t claim to be and I don’t normally shoot weddings. This wedding was an exception! This is the daughter of one of my dearest friends in the whole world and I would do anything for her…thus, I did photograph her daughter’s wedding. I actually enjoyed it! Weddings are a whole different ballgame than what I normally do. What I really enjoyed about this day was being a part of a day that meant so much to this family. I guess I just love what I do!

Okay, so I have to take a moment to brag about my daughter. She is a junior in high school and plays the oboe and is an amazing muscian. She recently had the opportunity to visit New York City with her band to play in Carnegie Hall. I was really sad because I didn’t get to go watch her, but I just received this awesome picture of her playing in Carnegie Hall and it actually made me tear up to see her there. She is on the end of the first row on the right.

I had the awesome opportunity to attend WPPI last week in Las Vegas. It was an amazing huge tradeshow and conference for photographers. It was great fun and I came back with tons of ideas for fun new products and albums. I can’t wait to show them off. The best part was that I got to go with my hubby and met up with my sister there. She is photographer also and her work is amazing. You can see her work here. We had lots of fun together and we even went to see Blue Man Group, which was very cool and different.

We are still working on finishing up the new studio. We are hoping to move in in the next 3 weeks, and I am SO EXCITED! It is beautiful and I can’t wait to start doing sessions there. I have so many ideas for new backdrops and cool things we can do for sessions. I’ll post some pics as soon as the flooring is installed.

We are booked into May, so if you want spring pictures, make sure to get on the schedule soon. Hush Baby sessions have been completely filling up and we have waiting lists, so if you are looking to sign up for the next one, do it quick. We’ll be at Tustin this weekend and then at Aliso Viejo on 4/14 – 4/15, and Huntington Beach on May 9-10.
