Happy Mondays are back!
I’ve missed a few Mondays, but I have also missed Happy Monday. I really miss it. It brings a bit of reality into my life to think of 3 things that make me happy each week. So this week…
1. Fall is in the air and is finally here in So Cal and I love it! Crisp mornings, breezy days, white puffy clouds and everything pumpkin!
2. Salted Carmel Hot Chocolate from Starbucks. Have you tried this? It is AMAZING!!!! It tastes like chocolate covered pretzels.
3. Dinner, a movie and a frozen yogurt with my 12 year old daughter. We had a mom/daughter night on Friday and I loved spending one on one time with my sweet girl.
So, I did shoot a wedding…
First, let me clarify…I am NOT a wedding photographer. I don’t claim to be and I don’t normally shoot weddings. This wedding was an exception! This is the daughter of one of my dearest friends in the whole world and I would do anything for her…thus, I did photograph her daughter’s wedding. I actually enjoyed it! Weddings are a whole different ballgame than what I normally do. What I really enjoyed about this day was being a part of a day that meant so much to this family. I guess I just love what I do!
There’s a bunch of images here, sorry for the long post…you can view their slideshow here.

Proud Mom Moment
Okay, so I have to take a moment to brag about my daughter. She is a junior in high school and plays the oboe and is an amazing muscian. She recently had the opportunity to visit New York City with her band to play in Carnegie Hall. I was really sad because I didn’t get to go watch her, but I just received this awesome picture of her playing in Carnegie Hall and it actually made me tear up to see her there. She is on the end of the first row on the right.
1 commentI’m back!
I had the awesome opportunity to attend WPPI last week in Las Vegas. It was an amazing huge tradeshow and conference for photographers. It was great fun and I came back with tons of ideas for fun new products and albums. I can’t wait to show them off. The best part was that I got to go with my hubby and met up with my sister there. She is photographer also and her work is amazing. You can see her work here. We had lots of fun together and we even went to see Blue Man Group, which was very cool and different.
We are still working on finishing up the new studio. We are hoping to move in in the next 3 weeks, and I am SO EXCITED! It is beautiful and I can’t wait to start doing sessions there. I have so many ideas for new backdrops and cool things we can do for sessions. I’ll post some pics as soon as the flooring is installed.
We are booked into May, so if you want spring pictures, make sure to get on the schedule soon. Hush Baby sessions have been completely filling up and we have waiting lists, so if you are looking to sign up for the next one, do it quick. We’ll be at Tustin this weekend and then at Aliso Viejo on 4/14 - 4/15, and Huntington Beach on May 9-10.
Here’s another beautiful newborn to share.

I wanted to take a quick moment to share an amazing organization with you that I am honored and privledged to be a part of. Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep is an organization that connects photographers with families who have terminally ill babies and children. For families overcome by grief and pain, the idea of photographing their baby may not immediately occur to them. Offering gentle and beautiful photography services in a compassionate and sensitive manner is the heart of this organization. Last week NILMDTS was featured on the NBC Today Show in a story that brought me to tears. Click here to view a beautiful story about this organization.

I know, I know…long time no post. I’ve been super busy getting everything ready for the new year. There’s lots of exciting things going on at the studio, we are getting ready to unveil a brand new look and color scheme for all of our marketing materials, a new updated blog interface and a move is in the near future! More details to come, but we are moving out of our home studio and into a new studio soon. We are in the middle of building it out, so once it’s done I’ll post some pics. We’ll also be having a grand opening party, I’m thinking a mom’s night out type of thing. It’s still in the early planning stages so post a comment or send us an email if you’d like an invite!
Scheduling - We are currently booked into April. So if you are planning a portrait session, make sure you book early. Remember, our schedule is usually booked 4-6 weeks in advance. We’d love to squeeze you in, but sometimes it’s difficult, so please, please, please plan ahead!!! We just hate for you to be disappointed.
Here’s a cute big brown eyed baby that I just fell in LOVE with. Isn’t she a dream? Those eyes just melt me like chocolate. Oooooohhh - that sounds good!
Til next time…Jen

Here’s some cuties from my first Hush Baby shoot this year. This one was at the new Huntington Beach location at Bella Terra in Huntington Beach. I have so much fun doing these mini sessions. It’s great to see so many cute and happy kids in one day. Here’s the first batch…there’s more to come.
